* SCROLL DOWN FOR ENGLISH VERSION  *

Αμε!

I haven’t written in two weeks! Some of you are worried and have been asking me what has happened. Well… A lot of things have happened, an incredible amount!… which is exactly why I haven’t been writing.  I was expecting the programme here to be tiring-after all that’s what I came here for, it wasn’t to relax, but my body obviously got a shock, having being jolted from its up till now state of total relaxation to one of full action, with medications, stem-cell treatments, movement. And this is good!
Luckily the good impression I formed during the first days continues, and in fact even improves as I get used to the daily routine. Also with the different things that have come up during the course of the treatment i.e. an intense cough, the fact that I have extremely fine (almost invisible) veins, it once again becomes apparent to me what perfect professionals they are here, as well as being good mannered, sensitive people. How much they respect the patients and their concern about not inadvertently hurting or stressing them is moving.
So routine it is with: wake-up time at 8-8 thirty, an omelette for breakfast, a barrage of nurses-doctors-cleaners-over and over etc., medication, morning dose of stem-cells with a little “prick” in my arm, morning physiotherapy with Rijul at 11 followed immediately by occupational therapy with Harsha at 11.45,  zoom to my room for lunch, afternoon dose of stem-cells in my arm/sieve, second round of physiotherapy with Rijul at 2.15 and my “marathon” ends at about 3.00 .I then usually pass out, dead to the world, for a 2 hour nap, wake up for supper, medications, a little TV, do the various exercises that Harsha and Rijul have given me, bath and then beddy bye time again! When there is a procedure (1 per week) the programme changes slightly as it does on Sundays. Take yesterday for example which was a quiet and (at last) sunny Sunday, Eva and I went out on our first excursion around the area! We ate koulfi and even saw a sacred cow. Oh Yes!

Update time and more

I know I haven't been writing much here, but there is a reason for that...: I don't know what to write about! Plus, I hate nagging and making you feel sad (or even worse, feel sorry) for me, since I really don't have any good news, yet.
In my last post/update I was on detox from Levaquin (Tavanic) antibiotic. Well, the detox lasted 3 weeks and then I was put back on Rocephin (Ceftriaxone) and NOT Levaquin which proved to be too strong for me (for now). So, since February 14th, I am having daily IVs (intravenous) infusions of 2gr Rocephin. Every single day, for half hour. Probably for 3 months. We will see. At least my picc-line is still in great condition. Crazy party-life huh? Anyway...
I also take Flagyl (Μetronidazole) orally, twice a week. The rest of my protocol stays the same.
Furthermore, I have a new physical-therapist. She is amazing! We've only done 3 sessions until now, but she has so many new ideas and exercises, I'm getting much more optimistic on this aspect. A lot of stretching, range of motion exercises, strength, balance, walk, and deep controlled breathing with a special exercising tool, is my routine... By the way, I don't have breathing problems, but I have weak abdomen, diaphragm, voice etc, so these tools can also help.

Breath Exerciser

It's harder than it looks! You are supposed to breath-in (suck in air) so much, as to push those balls up.

Well, I promise my next update will not be in 2 months again :)
Hopefully with some good news!
I'm very concerned and sad about my walking...

I live for this day!
